WHAT IT DOES
A connection, a pipeline
and a report.
Skuply is not a screen somebody on your team has to work in. It is a connection to your webshop, a pipeline running through it, and a report showing what changed.
What never happens: price, stock, lead time, MPN and warranty are neither read nor written.
THE PIPELINE
Seven steps, and after each one there are more fields.
01 CONNECT
A key you create yourself and can revoke yourself.
02 READ
Titles, descriptions and the attributes already there.
03 MEASURE
What is empty, per field and per category, with the date attached.
04 SET ASIDE
2,000 products we never touch, as a group to compare against.
05 DERIVE
Per field a value, where we read it and a number.
06 WRITE
Above 0.85 goes live, into the attribute your filter runs on.
07 KEEP UP
A pass every day. New SKUs go along the next morning.
Black is what was already there, blue was added at that step, red stayed under the threshold.
THE SOURCES
Every value points back to something
that was already there.
Your own title
Three quarters comes from here. There is often more in a title than in the fields below it.
Your own description
The same, one sentence further in. Held to a higher bar, because a word in a sentence is more often about something else.
Half of a compound word
chrome-vanadium is a type of steel. What we read out of that gets a lower number and goes to the list more often.
No datasheets
We do not read pdfs. If the standard is only in a datasheet, the field stays empty.
No feeds
No supplier feed, no spreadsheet, no manufacturer database. Only what stands in your own shop.
No image recognition
We do not look at photos. We write alt text about a photo, out of your title; we do not read it.
The number says how direct the source is. A colour stated literally in the title scores 0.97. The same colour out of a sentence in the description 0.90, because there a word is more often about something else. What stands nowhere we do not derive, and then the field stays empty.
THE MAPPING LAYER
Neatly filled and the filter still stays empty.
In WooCommerce a global attribute is a taxonomy you can filter on, and a custom attribute is just text on the page. Fill the wrong one and the value is there while the filter stays empty. So we first look up which attribute you already have for it, and write into that one. Only when there is none do we create one.
ONE VALUE
rubber
stands in your title · 0.92
pa_materiaal
your own attribute, looked up and not created
rubber
as a term inside it, because the term is the filter button
the product
linked to that term, alongside what was already on it
Which attribute that is, we work out on day one. A shop with 81 attributes usually already has one for colour and material; putting a second one next to it would not fill your filter but split it.
WHAT YOU GET BACK
Three things, every month.
A score
One number that climbs, with the denominator and the measurement date beside it.
A review list
Everything that stayed under the threshold, with source and proposal. Half an hour of work.
A report
One page you can forward to somebody who has no time.
